    Lung Cancer Rates Rising Print
      Update Time:2017-09-12 17:08

World Lung Cancer Day is August 1, and the Hope Foundation for Cancer Care and four other groups today highlighted the rising incidence of the disease. Lung cancer is the most fatal cancer in Taiwan, with one person dying of the disease every 57 minutes in 2016, compared with every 68 minutes in 2008.

Lung cancer's symptoms are not obvious in its early stages, meaning it has often reached an advanced stage by the time a patient goes to a clinic. The groups urged smokers and those with a family history of the illness to undergo lung cancer screenings as soon as possible to enable effective early treatment.
